Halloween Lasts All Month

If you know me very well,  you know I don't especially love Halloween. However, my dear husband, LOVES Halloween. Decorations went up in the house and outside of the house on the first of October and he has been coordinating Halloween events all month. Here are photos from a few of the things we have been up to. Oh, and a video at the end.

The Preschool hosts a dinner in the Pumpkin Patch each year and I love this event. It is probably my favorite Halloween activity. The school provides dinner and entertainment, we enjoy the children and pick out our pumpkin at the patch. It's so fun and low key and just perfect. I even got a perfect photo of my four little pumpkins.

Ethan is a knight for Halloween. It is the perfect costume for him because he is brave and handsome and kind in real life just like a knight.

Miriam is a cheerleader and we almost can't stand how cute she is.

Halloween Spooktackular Trick or Treating at Sea World.

Our cousins went with us to the Spooktacular. Here we are before we left.
Clone Trooper (Grayson), Ninjago (Landon), Cheerleader (Miriam), Knight (Ethan), Snow White (Lyla), and Construction Worker (Logan).

Fun with Ethan

My sweet Ethan and I have had some fun times together lately. I try to spend individual time with each of my children. It is hard to do sometimes, but so worth it. Last week, I chaperoned Ethan's class field trip to the theater. We saw Click, Clack, Boo: A Tricky Treat at The Rep. It was fun and I loved being with Ethan.

 Theater selfie.

Set of Click, Clack, Boo. It was a fun set and when the different pieces were moved around and things fell from the ceiling, the children were super impressed.

Ethan's school paired with a local pizza joint for a fundraiser last week. The children decorated pizza boxes at school and when we purchased our pizza, it came in Ethan's box! So fun. He drew a haunted house with spooky ghosts and scaredy cats.

I promised the boys earlier in the year, that we would be going to a theme park one on one at some point before Christmas. Ethan's turn was first. We went to Sea World and only did the things HE wanted to do. We rode a few rides, ate Dippin Dots, hung out with the sharks, and finally met the penguins.

Fun with Landon

With the two big boys in school, Ethan five days a week and Grayson three days a week, Landon and I have been hanging out a lot. Here are some of his cutest moments from last week.

Landon loves his Gigi and Papa so much. He was really missing them this week, so he carried their photo around for the better part of a day. He talked to them and told them all that he wanted to do the next time he visited them in St. Augustine. Here he is having lunch with Gigi and Papa.

Last week the weather was pretty pleasant, so we had a picnic lunch in the front yard. Landon is such a sweetheart. Below he was showing me his favorite dinosaur noise. Roooooaaarrrrr!

On Sunday, we were watching a little gymnastics on TV. They showed old footage of a medal ceremony. Landon walked up to the TV and kissed the pretty blonde while she received her gold medal. Then he said, "I kissed a girl!" Oh no!

About Jesus

Earlier this week, Ethan came with me to visit a new sister in our church congregation. It is always fun to pal around with one child at a time. Ethan fell in love with a pen Daniela had. He sadly handed it back when it was time to go, but he didn't complain. Daniela told him he could keep the pen if he wrote her a story. On the way home, I encouraged him to think about what his story should be. He promptly told me that he already knew what he was going to write about: Jesus.

He has been working on his story for three days and finished it today. He did this all on his own and I thought it was so sweet that I should share his sweet words here on the blog.  (Note: I did correct spelling and grammar, but he did pretty good with his limited spelling skills.)

Ethan: About Jesus
"Jesus loves us and we love him. Jesus made us plants, the blue sky, and animals, and the beautiful Earth, and our voices. God made Earth so we can live and learn and serve our family. Jesus is special because he helps us and makes stuff that can help us live. How we like the Earth. We like the Earth, but we have to take care of it too. Every day is Earth Day because we got to help the Earth. On Earth day, people pick up trash. We love the Earth. Animals need it too."
(Those arrows at the bottom are instructions to turn the page over.)

"How we use the Earth. We use the Earth for many things. If we didn't have the Earth every thing will die. We need the Earth because animals need plants but some need meat. We use the Earth for dirt and grass to help the buildings to stay still. How we show we love our family. We show we love our family by helping and acting like a family. Our family loves us because they show they love us. We got more people in our family and they love us too!"

This was an extra little note he included to clarify some instructions on his story.
"If you see a box with a dot in it that means that it is a mistake. If you see arrows that are turned that means that there is something behind it."
