I'm so Lame, but...

Netflix just added Dawson's Creek to Instant Streaming!  I am thrilled.  Honestly, we worshipped this show when it came out my senior year of high school.  I remember talking about it each week in Mr. Buell's AP Physics Class.  Cause, you know, we hardly talked about physics in there.  We loved it and I am so excited to get my nostalgia on.

Traditions

Having been married for 7 years and parents for nearly 5, Jared and I have started some family traditions that we think are AWESOME! One of our favorites is breakfast on Saturday mornings. I usually go all out. It is always delicious. There are major dishes afterwards, but it is so worth it. The boys usually snuggle and play while I prepare the meal. Ethan and Grayson are old enough to help now and they are great helpers. They can set the table, mix ingredients, and Ethan even did a pretty good job cracking the eggs last week. We rotate our main item each Saturday, i.e. waffles, french toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy. In addition to the main item, we have a variety of combinations including fresh fruit, eggs, grits, hashbrowns, etc. This morning we had biscuits and gravy, eggs, strawberries, and milk. Yummy! Also, a great side effect is leftovers so I don't have to worry with making breakfast on Sunday mornings.  It is the day of rest afterall.  Post your favorite traditions below in the comments.

Here are some of our recipes if you'd like to start having massive Saturday breakfasts as a tradition in your home. 

Biscuits and Gravy

Biscuits: I use Bisquick and their instructions for drop biscuits on the side of the box.  They are quick, easy, and taste pretty good since they get smothered anyways.

Gravy:
1 Sausage Roll (I prefer Jimmy Dean)
1/4 Cup flour
2 Cups milk
salt and pepper to taste

Crumble and cook sausage in large skillet over medium heat until browned.  Stir in flour until dissolved. Gradually stir in milk.  Cook gravy until thick and bubbly. Season with salt and pepper.  Serve hot over biscuits.

Krause Waffles

1 Cup All-purpose flour                               
1 1/4 Cup Wheat flour
4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 TBSP sugar
Mix ingredients together in large bowl.

In a separate bowl beat together 2 eggs, 2 Cups milk, and 3/4 Cup Canola Oil. Add to dry ingredients until just moistened.  Bake in a hot waffle iron until done.

I like to spice it up occassionally by throwing in some fresh blueberries or substituting buttermilk for the milk.  I've also used soy milk as substitute and it made for a very fluffy waffle.

New Life

I am in the process of breathing new life into my blog. We had an excellent class at a recent Relief Society meeting at the church on blogging. I learned some new things and hope to implement them effectively. But first, some random photos of the last week!

Disney with Gigi and Papa! Note: On the Peoplemover in Tomorrow Land, you go through some other rides and it gets very dark.  While going through Space Mountain, Ethan exclaims, "I can't see myself!" He was a little worried until we assured him he was still there, that it was only dark. 

15 months

Little Landon is 15 months and he really isn't that little.  He weighed in at 25.4 pounds and is 31 inches long.  He got three shots today which bummed him out, but he was thrilled to have his very first lollipop.  Landon loves to walk and is learning to run.  He often doesn't look where he is going when he runs and it has led to quite a few bumps and bruises.  He is the noisiest of the bunch and it is quite disconcerting.  I think he just wants to make sure his voice is heard.  He has five words, including Mama, Dada, down, more, and Grandma.  He loves giving smooches and pretty much does so on demand.  I love it. 
Also, Grayson calls nipples "nickels" and it is hilarious.

Cute Video

In March, my sister and her husband went to Disney World to celebrate my niece's third birthday.  Ethan got to tag along and had a blast.  Joe took three hours of video footage and edited it down to 14 minutes.  It is so awesome.  If you're looking for a smile, you should watch it.  He also has some other cute videos on this same blog you can check out.

Harry Potter! (It's okay, you can be jealous.)

Arriving in Hogsmeade.

Jared coordinated a little getaway for our 7th wedding anniversary last weekend.  On Friday, we sent the boys off to our parents homes and relaxed for two whole days!  We ate at Tuscano de Brasil and it was so delicious.  Saturday we spent our time at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure so we go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  It was awesome and we loved it.  Here are some photos.

The computer at Three Broomsticks had technical difficulties.  Jared thought it was so funny and I thought that was so funny.

Everything was so detailed.  I felt like one of those old movies, where the kid opens the book and steps into it and ends up in the place they're reading about.
