Welcome to Miami ...

Jared and I had a great time in Miami last weekend. My parents watched Ethan and Phoebe and Stacey and Joe generously shared their timeshare points for our hotel. It was so wonderful to go on a mini-vacation with my husband. We haven't been on something like this is in a very long time. Seems all of our travel has us staying with people and no alone time. We love our people, but really enjoyed our alone time this weekend. The only thing that would have made it better was if I hadn't been feeling so crummy.
We went to see Star Trek, ate out a lot, took an airboat ride in the Everglades, walked on Miami Beach, and attended Dr. Gordon Markham's graduation from UM Medical School. It was awesome! Here are some pics.

Look how strong they are!

Gordon felt that only those of us who were most attractive could show our face in this one.

May

Well, it is really starting to get HOT here! I have to admit I usually enjoy the summer, but they are more difficult with my higher body temperature while pregnant. So much has been happening, but I haven't felt up to much with the way I've been feeling. Ethan is starting to parrot some of the things we say and it is so cute! He also copies what we do. Yesterday Jared put a sticker on his nose and then Ethan took the sticker and did the same. He loves his daddy! Whenever Jared leaves, Ethan runs to the window and watches him leave. We've also been going swimming! I need to get Ethan lessons and I think I've found a place. The only problem is they are everyday and I'm at work two of those days. We'll see if I can work it out. He looks super cute in the suit my mom got him.
He had his 18 month check up a couple weeks ago. No shots! He is nearly 31 inches and weighs nearly 25 pounds. The doctor said he was a sturdy boy. : ) That is especially noticeable when he tries to stand on me. Ethan has also been using his dinner utensils exclusively. He has gotten really good at it. He was first just good at the fork, but is getting the hang of holding the spoon level so the food doesn't fall. He loves to read books and chase the dog.
For Mother's Day, Jared did breakfast in bed and it was amazing! He also made my card complete with an Ethan, Phoebe, and Jared collage and a poem he wrote. And, I got new slippers. It was a perfect day.

I've also posted some pictures to catch y'all up.

One day while I was cooking dinner, Ethan came and got his own cooking tools and was whipping something up in the living room.

Easter Egg Hunt!

I found another one!

Ethan really wanted to wear his sunglasses during dinner. Hilarious!

Ethan in his new swimsuit and ready for the pool. He looks like he's in trouble in this picture, but he wasn't. I think he is really unsure about the sunscreen we just sprayed on him.
