Jared's Birthday

Jared turned 29 yesterday. When asked how it felt to be 29, he said that he'd felt 29 for awhile, so not really any different. I'm not really sure what that means, but must have something to do with having a wife and three kids. I must say that I love my hubabaloo very much. He is my favorite and I am so happy and proud to be his wife. We celebrated Krause and Hesson style, which means we had two yummy desserts. Sabra made black forest cake and Tony made a cheesecake (Jared's all-time fav). Jared even got some Magic tickets and we are going to enjoy that gift together next week. It should be so awesome to be in the new Amway Arena.

My niece, Lyla, shares her birthday with Uncle Jared and she turned 2. She is seriously hilarious. I love her curly little head and her sweet little voice. Since I have no boys, she is my window to the world of little girls and I am so happy and proud to be her aunt. As is now a tradition, I made Lyla's birthday cake. Untraditionally, we didn't get to eat it. See pictures to find out why.

Animal Kingdom

We took the family to experience the Animal Kingdom at Disney World last Saturday (March 19). This was our first huge outing as a family of five and our first outing to Disney World. All the boys were so well-behaved and they had a fabulous time. The animals were a big hit. Ethan's favorite thing were the hippos on the animal safari. We were so busy dealing with the boys that we failed to get any good pictures. I did get one of each of the boys, but honestly you can't tell that were are at Disney. The shots look like they could have been taken anywhere, but they do capture the joy the boys were feeling on our day out. Norb got us in on his retirement pass and accompanied us on the safari. Then were on our own. We saw the tigers, bats, ate some ice cream, watched Finding Nemo: The Musical, and It's Tough to be a Bug. Good times!

Landon's Blessing Day

It is always a special day when one of our children is blessed. Here we are as a family of five headed out to church for Landon's blessing. The Spirit was so strong and it was wonderful to have our parents and Mickey and Lauren and their family there. We really are blessed to have such wonderful families and friends in our lives.

Outdoor and Indoor Fun

Recovering from pregnancy is a relaxing with one baby, stressful with two, and chaotic with three. Although I still haven't become brave enough to venture out in the world with all three of them, I have been trying to do fun things around the house and neighborhood. We go outside everyday unless it rains and we always go for a walk. Here are some things we've been doing to suppress our cabin fever. Trying new hairstyles. Check out that faux hawk.

Cloth Diapering

Okay, so my diaper bill went from about $60 a month to $150 a month with two babies and a bed-wetting toddler in the house. I had been thinking of cloth diapering for about a year, but became completely overwhelmed with being pregnant again. Now that Landon is here, I was ready to make the switch to cloth for Grayson. Planning to move Landon over to full-time cloth diapering in the next few months. I received some diapers as gifts and once they're gone, we'll be up and running.

So far, so good. These are not our mother's cloth diapers. No pins, no wet pants, no bulky bottoms. My friend, Jen Smith, is my go-to-cloth-diapering-guru and has been so helpful in this whole process. We are using a combo of the G-diapering system (I like their biodegradable insert option for when we're out and about. Who wants to carry around wet inserts?) and BumGenius All in Ones. Just got the BGs yesterday so haven't had chance to use them yet. I have high hopes for them. Anyways, I am loving the reduced expense and the fact that I'm doing something nice for our planet. *Bonus* Grayson is sooooooooo cute in his little G Pants.
