Sleeping through the night

Well, Ethan has finally done it! He slept through the night last night. He ate at 8:30 PM and finally fell asleep around 10 PM (after his bath, storytime, and daddy rocking him to sleep). At 3 AM I woke up out of habit I guess, but since I didn't hear him I drifted off to sleep. He didn't wake up until 6:30 AM! I couldn't resist and did check on him around 6 AM because I got nervous that I hadn't heard him in 8 hours. I think that's a normal mom thing to worry about. I certainly hope this is going to continue!

Blessings

Well, I officially started back to work on Thursday. I am thankful for the blessings of our Heavenly Father. I am thankful that I enjoy my job and that we have family nearby that help us out. I am very thankful for Sabra and her willingness to watch Ethan and take good care of him while I'm away. I am also very thankful for Aunt Myndie who has been thinking of me and taking pictures of Ethan to send me while I am at work. It all means so much to me!

Baby Smiles

Ethan has really started smiling! It is the most wonderful part of my day. He is getting so chubby and cute! Jared has taken to calling him Chubb Chubb! It is catching on like most things Jared starts saying. Here are some pictures. I had trouble getting them because Ethan was smiling at us and when I put the camera in front of my face, he would quit.

To work or not to work

Well, I was going to go into work today to catch up prior to my official day back next week, and I couldn't do it! I was up with Ethan at 4 AM and holding him and thinking "I can't stand to leave you! Especially if I don't have to yet!" So, I decided to stay home with Ethan today. We enjoyed a nap, a walk, some snuggle time, reading time, and bath time. I need to get a photo of Ethan in the bath. He absolutely loves his bath! I'll do that next tim. Anyways, I love work, but I love Ethan more. I simply can't go back full time. Hopefully my employer is as supportive as they have claimed to be and will work out a part-time solution for me. That way Jared and I can still live in a house and eat food and I can be with Ethan most days! Send your prayers our way that things will work out as they should.

Back to Work

Well, today I did a trial run in going back to work. I only went in today and will go one day next week. My official first day back is on the 24th. It was so hard to leave Ethan. I cried the whole way to work. Once there, I got into my busy groove and the day went quickly. I hated leaving him, but took comfort in knowing he is in good hands with Grandma. Maybe next week will be easier. We'll see.

New Appliances

Well, blessings seem to be coming at us all the time. I wish there were better ways to say thank you. Uncle David and Aunt Teresa replaced the barely used appliances in their Franklin, NC home and GAVE them to us. They are so beautiful and work so much better than 16 year old appliances that came with our house. We got a fridge (one with the water/ice in the door), dishwasher, glass top stove/oven combo and a built in microwave. My dad came down and he, Brandon and Kevin helped us get them installed. Again, having trouble with my camera. Pictures will be coming shortly: )

Happy New Year!

We spent the New Year in Franklin, North Carolina at my Aunt Teresa and Uncle David's mountain house. My mom and dad, Stacey, Joe, Jared, Ethan, and I all went. Ethan traveled pretty well and enjoyed being loved on by so many people. We enjoyed the fireplace, good food, great company, and beautiful views. Too bad it snowed the day we left!
